General Information

Burndy Products new In-line disconnect utilizes proven Wejtap™ Technology in combination with industry standard components to provide reliable performance of switch applications.

r Utilize our connectors for securing the switch to the distribution line in tension applications.

r Utilize industry recognized and proven GS blade components along with dual Advance Rubber Insulators attached to a Burndy product designed yoke plate assembly.

r Wejtap™ In-Line Disconnect designed for use in gloving and hot stick applications in conjunction with an industry standard load break tool.

r Dual insulators minimize the switch movement during opening and closing of the blade.

r Installation steps are minimized. The switch can be snapped directly on the line and secured with our conductor pivot retainer, designed into the switch frame.

r Wejtap™ tooling is used to secure the “C Member” to the built-in wedge feature of the frame. Providing reliable mechanical and electrical performance.

r The GS blade is positioned on the switch to simplify cutting the conductor during installation.

r In-Line Disconnect is removable and reuseable.

r WEJTAP™ In-Line Disconnect designed for use in gloving and hot stick applications in conjunction with an industry standard loadbreak tools. In-Line switch is engineered for both installation techniques.

r Dual insulators minimize the switch movement during opening and closing of the blade.Standard switches incorporate one insulator which increases assembly movement during opening and closing operations.

r Installation steps are minimized. The switch can be snapped directly on the line and secured with our conductor pivot retainer, designed into the switch frame. Switch can be lifted directly and secured in one operation..

r WEJTAP™ tooling is used to secure the “C Member” to the built-in wedge feature of the frame, providing reliable mechanical and electrical performance. High confidence based on over 25 years of WEJTAP™ systems use with utilities.

r The GS T&D Products Ltd. blade is positioned on the switch to simplify cutting the conductor during installation. Once the switch is secured with the C member, the linemen simply cut the cable in the middle of the switch assembly, using industry standard cable cutters.

r In-Line Disconnect is removable and reusable. Can be used in either permanent or temporary applications.


r Mechanical and electrical connections are made simultaneously. No additional connectors required.


r No special tensioning devices are required for installation. The switch can be installed without line tensioning devices.

r Reduced installation time. Easier to install than conventional bolted In Line switches.
